The Nyanamo Community Conservation and Development Organisation (NCCDO) is a civil society organisation committed to environmental conservation, restoration of ecosystems, climate resilience, and sustainable community development in Uganda. NCCDO works with local communities, government institutions, development partners, and conservation stakeholders to restore forests, wetlands, biodiversity, and improve livelihoods for present and future generations.

To promote environmental conservation, biodiversity restoration, climate resilience, and sustainable community development through tree planting, restoration of forests and wetlands, environmental education, eco-tourism, and livelihood empowerment initiatives.

About NCCDO
NCCDO operates in Bukimbiri County, Kisoro District, near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South Western Uganda. As a civil society organisation, NCCDO advocates for environmental stewardship, restoration of degraded ecosystems, protection of biodiversity, and community participation in sustainable conservation practices.
Environmental Restoration
NCCDO supports restoration of degraded landscapes through tree planting, restoration of pocket forests, watershed protection, and wetland rehabilitation to improve biodiversity and environmental sustainability.
Community Empowerment
We empower local communities, youth, women, and vulnerable groups through environmental awareness, conservation education, eco-tourism opportunities, skills development, and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
Climate Action
NCCDO contributes to climate change mitigation and adaptation through reforestation, ecosystem restoration, and promotion of environmentally responsible practices within communities.

Conservation Around Bwindi Ecosystem
NCCDO operates in communities adjacent to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, an internationally recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the endangered mountain gorilla. Our conservation initiatives promote peaceful coexistence between communities and wildlife while protecting critical ecosystems and natural resources.
